Note to Windows XP users
By default, the Windows XP operating system comes with the Internet Explorer 6 browser without the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed, XP is able to execute JavaScripts, but does NOT include support for Java Applets. You may find that out, when some websites will not display properly anymore when browsing them. If you installed Windows XP over an existing installation of Windows that already had Internet Explorer with JVM installed, then you should be able to see the menu just fine. To be able to run JAVA applications in Windows XP you have to download the Microsoft Virtual Machine , which is not available as a separate download, but now bundled into the first Service Pack SP1 for Windows XP. See Microsoft Site for details...
If you prefer not to install the Microsoft Service Pack 1 for XP or if you prefer a smaller download, then you can download and install the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) from Sun:
http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp (Click the Install Now button - approx. 10 Mbyte download)
Sun is the creator of Java, and their plug-in will allow you view and run web sites that use Java.
